RadioDog is an all-purpose streaming framework for IceCast-based Internet Radio stations. It involves a combination of base libraries, an IRC bot, administrative and disc-jockey web panels, and integration units for displaying stream data on websites, both local and remote. RadioDog is designed to do the 'backbreaking' work of running an IRC station; scheduling, DJ information, show information, request handling, and other administrative functions.
October 1, 2007 -- If you haven't checked out the dev log, I strongly suggest you do so, since it has more in-depth analyses than the news page. That being said, I'm happy to announce a few new features:
* iDJc Integration (We're working with the developer to design the request protocol)
* Support for NullSoft ShoutCast servers
* Support for Windows Media servers
September 11, 2007 -- If anyone has good ideas for the RadioDog Web Dashboard, please e-mail me... the YUI is finally integrated into my local copy (I'm making sure there aren't any glaring issues before I commit it to SVN), and I'll also be adding PEAR::Image_Graph to the system requirements, for status graph generation. RadioDog will bury the competition! (... is there competition?)
September 10, 2007 -- At the risk of having "impure" code (since I've written everything else from scratch), I'm going to be including the Yahoo! UI for RadioDog's dashboard applications. This will make my life a *lot* easier; also, the Subversion repo has the current dev copy up, with the playlist class. The playlist class is not yet integrated into the actual system yet, however.
September 6, 2007 -- I promise we're not dead yet. I've been working on playlist features and the requesting system, so development is coming along slowly but surely. Also look for SAM3/4 request support in upcoming versions, as well as implementing support for M3U playlists to make requesting and browsing music libraries easier.
August 18, 2007 -- Development has been a tad slow since I'm in the process of moving cities -- look for more SVN updates after the 21st. Also, many thanks to falconX for helping out and creating the Request system so I can work on the base code.
August 13, 2007 -- Happy Sixth Birthday, RadioDog! That's right. Since August 13, 2001, RadioDog has been in development. Also, 4.00alpha1 has been released, so if you are curious to give RadioDog a try, give the manual on this site a quick read and then go ahead and download the source! (Unstable Subversion code available at left)
August 9, 2007 -- RadioDog 4.0 is under development! This is the first fully-functional RadioDog release that will be released as a compiled binary. Look for beta versions in the next week or so... some new features to look forward to:
* Incredible speed compared to previous versions
* Virtual DDE and Cross-Memory support for extensible modules
* Full integration into any PHP-Enabled website
* New remoteDDE for client-side modules
* Database integration for DJ/Show information
